About UK Padel Guide
An editorial and research resource for padel in the UK — rules, gear, where to play, and tour news.
What this site is
UK Padel Guide is a guide to padel — the sport, the gear, and the courts — in the UK. The aim is to explain how padel works, walk through buying a first racket with real numbers and live retailer availability, and recommend what to play and where based on verifiable criteria — not on whoever pays the highest commission.
We focus on clear, honest information. Where most padel sites are either gear-only, scraped club directories, or news feeds aimed at people who already play, the guides here start from scratch — assuming no tennis experience, no jargon, and that you'd rather be told what not to buy than be sold the most expensive option.
What we do, and what we don't
We do:
- Cite real sources. LTA participation and court figures, World Padel Network's UK search data, official tour announcements, retailer product pages, and on-court rule updates from the FIP. Every statistic links back to its primary source.
- Cross-check retailer availability. A racket recommendation is only useful if you can actually buy the racket. Every gear pick checks Padel Point, Padel Market, Padel Nuestro and Decathlon UK for UK shipping and stock at the time of writing.
- Update on a schedule. Pillar pages and city directories are reviewed quarterly. News pieces are dated; gear reviews are dated; "current" data is dated.
We deliberately don't:
- Claim to have personally tested or visited every venue or product we cover. Where we have first-party photos or hands-on impressions, we say so explicitly. Where we don't, we say that too.
- Operate a venue directory with city-by-city court listings of our own. The LTA's directory at ltapadel.org.uk and booking platforms like Playtomic and MATCHi have first-party data we couldn't reasonably keep current. Our city guides point readers there rather than maintaining a parallel list that goes stale.
- Run sponsored content disguised as editorial. Affiliate links are disclosed; sponsored placements (when they exist) will be labelled as such.
How we recommend
Gear recommendations are made on three criteria, in this order: (1) suitability for the stated player level, (2) UK retailer availability and warranty terms, (3) value for money relative to the alternatives in the same band. Affiliate revenue does not influence which rackets, shoes or accessories make a recommendation list — it influences which retailers are linked, where the same product is sold by several.
Club and city coverage is editorial: we describe what the LTA's data, public reviews and the venue's own published information say about a court — surface, indoor/outdoor, junior/wheelchair access, booking platform — and link out for the actual booking.
Reader-supported
UK Padel Guide is reader-supported. Some links are affiliate links — see the affiliate disclosure for details. Affiliate revenue does not influence which products or venues we recommend.
