Head Delta Pro Review (UK 2026): A Diamond Power Racket

By Rob Griffiths7 August 2026 · 5 min read

Who is the Head Delta Pro for?

The Delta Pro is squarely an advanced player's power racket. It suits confident attackers who already have solid control and want more bite on the smash, the vibora and out-of-the-air finishes. The reward is genuine put-away power; the price of entry is that you need the technique and reactions to handle a heavy, head-heavy frame with a relatively small sweet spot.

If you are a beginner or improver, or your game is built on defence, resets and placement rather than attack, this is the wrong racket - you will find it tiring and unforgiving. Control-first players are far better served by a round-headed frame such as the Babolat Counter Veron.

What kind of racket is it?

The Delta Pro is an oversized diamond-shaped frame (475 cm²) built around HEAD's Auxetic construction, a carbon hitting surface and a hard Power FOAM core. It weighs about 375g (plus or minus 10g) with a high, head-heavy balance (around 272mm) and a 38mm profile. Everything about that spec sheet points the same way: mass and weight concentrated up top, in the diamond, where the ball meets the sweet spot on an attacking swing. That is the classic recipe for power, which is exactly how HEAD positions it - the racket won Testea's Best Power Padel Racket award in 2023.

What does the Delta Pro do well?

Power, first and foremost. The head-heavy diamond loads the smash and the vibora, and the hard core returns pace when you swing through the ball cleanly. The carbon face adds bite and a durable, connected feel, and HEAD's Auxetic yoke gives a clean response at contact that advanced players tend to like. For a strong player finishing points at the net or bandeja-ing into attack, it hits hard and feels solid doing it.

What are the trade-offs?

It is a demanding racket. The high balance and modest sweet spot punish mistimed or off-centre contact, and the 375g head-heavy weight can get tiring across long matches, especially on the arm. There is little margin for error, which is why every serious review pins it to advanced players. And because it launched back in 2022, it has been overtaken in HEAD's own line-up (see below) and is now discontinued in the UK - so buying one means hunting down residual stock at clearance prices rather than paying a flagship premium.

Where the Delta Pro sits in HEAD's range

The Delta Pro is a 2022 racket - Arturo Coello's original signature frame - not a current-season flagship. HEAD's present-day Coello signature is the Coello Pro (2026), a newer diamond power racket that HEAD describes as built on the award-winning Delta Pro. In other words, the Delta Pro is the pedigree original that the current flagship evolved from, and it has now been discontinued in the UK, with retailers selling through residual stock. If you specifically want the latest Coello frame, look at the Coello Pro; if you can find remaining Delta Pro stock at a clearance price, it still delivers the power.

Head Delta Pro vs the alternatives

The most useful comparison for most buyers is power versus control. We put the Delta Pro head to head with a forgiving round-headed control racket in our Head Delta Pro vs Babolat Counter Veron guide - the Counter Veron is the softer, more accessible option for defenders and improvers, while the Delta Pro is the attacking specialist. If you are set on power but want the newest frame, the Coello Pro 2026 is the flagship step up.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Head Delta Pro a control or a power racket?
It is a power racket. The oversized diamond head shape, roughly 375g weight and head-heavy balance are all built for attack, and it won Testea's Best Power Padel Racket award in 2023. Control-first players should choose a round-headed racket instead.
Is the Head Delta Pro suitable for beginners?
No. The high balance, hard core and relatively small sweet spot demand good technique and fast reactions. It is aimed at advanced players who already have control and want more power. Beginners and improvers will find it tiring and unforgiving.
What is the difference between the Delta Pro and the Coello Pro?
The Delta Pro is Arturo Coello's original 2022 signature racket. The Coello Pro (2026) is HEAD's current Coello flagship, a newer diamond power frame that HEAD says is built on the award-winning Delta Pro. The Delta Pro is the earlier model and usually the cheaper of the two.
How much does the Head Delta Pro cost in the UK?
It is now discontinued in the UK, so pricing is residual clearance rather than a stable retail price. Tennis Nuts last listed it at £149.49, down from a £265 RRP. Check availability before committing.
Head Delta Pro or Babolat Counter Veron?
Choose the Head Delta Pro if you are an advanced player who wants attacking power. Choose the round-headed Babolat Counter Veron if you want control, comfort and a larger sweet spot - it is the more forgiving, better-value pick for most club players. Our full comparison covers both.
