Privacy Policy

Who are we?

UK Padel Guide ("we", "us", "our") publishes the website at https://ukpadelguide.co.uk. This privacy policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how it is processed under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

What data do we collect?

Automatically, when you visit the site:

  • Standard server logs (IP address, browser, device, referrer, pages requested, timestamps), retained for 30 days for security and abuse-prevention purposes.
  • Cookies and similar storage as described under "Cookies" below.
  • Aggregated, pseudonymised analytics events via Google Analytics 4 (page views, scroll depth, outbound link clicks).

Voluntarily, when you submit it:

  • We do not currently operate a contact form, newsletter, or user account system. If that changes, this section will be updated before any such feature launches.

How do we use cookies?

We use a small number of cookies and similar storage:

  • Strictly necessary - used to remember your cookie preference and to load the site correctly. These are always set.
  • Analytics - Google Analytics 4 via Google Tag Manager. Used in aggregate to understand which pages are useful. Set only if you accept analytics in the cookie banner.
  • Advertising - set by third-party ad networks (Google AdSense, Ezoic / Mediavine / Raptive once enabled). Set only if you accept marketing in the cookie banner.

You can change your preferences at any time via the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer.

How does affiliate tracking work?

Some outbound links to retailers (Padel Point, Padel Market, Padel Nuestro, Decathlon UK and others) are affiliate links. When you click one, the retailer's affiliate network (Awin, CJ Affiliate, Partnerize) sets a cookie that attributes a subsequent purchase to UK Padel Guide. We see only aggregated commission reports - we do not see your name, address or what you bought. See the affiliate disclosure for full details.

What is our legal basis for processing?

Under UK GDPR our lawful bases are:

  • Legitimate interests - for security logging and aggregate analytics that cannot be done with cookie-less measurement alone.
  • Consent - for non-essential analytics and advertising cookies, which are not set unless you opt in.

What are your rights under UK GDPR?

You have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or erase it, restrict or object to processing, and lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address below.

Who do we share data with?

We do not sell personal data. We share data only with:

  • Cloudflare - site hosting and CDN.
  • Google - analytics and (when enabled) advertising.
  • Affiliate networks - Awin, CJ Affiliate and Partnerize, when you click an affiliate link.

Each of these is bound by its own published privacy policy.

How long do we keep your data?

Server logs: 30 days. GA4 event data: 14 months default retention. Affiliate click attribution: governed by each network (typically 30 days).

How do we handle children's data?

This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

How will we notify you about changes?

When this policy changes materially, the "Last updated" date at the top will reflect that and the changes will be summarised here for 30 days. Substantive changes (new categories of cookie, new third-party data sharing) will be flagged in a banner.

How can you contact us?

Questions about this policy or the data we hold about you can be raised via the contact details published on the About page.
