The LW Cube Elbowcare W is the control-focused sibling in Varlion's REGA line. LW stands for Lethal Weapon, the brand's historic name for its round, precision-oriented frames, and this one carries that lineage: a round head and low balance built for players who dictate rallies through placement rather than brute force.

Like the rest of the REGA range it uses the winter-tuned core, optimised for play below roughly 25 degrees Celsius, paired with the Elbowcare shock-absorption structure. That makes it a strong choice for defensive and tactical players who log long cold-weather sessions and want to keep their arm healthy.

The compromises follow from the shape. A round control frame will never match a diamond for put-away power, so committed attackers who rely on the racket to supply pace should look at the Bourne instead. And because the core is winter-specific, it is not the right pick for players in consistently hot conditions.

Where the LW makes sense is for the player whose game is built on defence, consistency and clean exits off the back glass rather than finishing with a bang. The round shape and low balance give a big, central sweet spot and fast handling at the net, which rewards quick reactions and repeatable placement. Paired with the Elbowcare damping, it is one of the more joint-friendly ways to play a patient, tactical game through the colder months. Think of the REGA trio as a shape decision first - round LW for control, diamond Bourne for power, hybrid Maxima for balance - and the LW is the answer when precision is what you value most.
