Babolat Movea 2 Review: Stable All-Court Padel Shoe 2026

By Rob Griffiths7 August 2026 · 2 min read

The Movea 2 is Babolat's answer for the everyday padel player who wants a shoe that just works - stable, cushioned, hard-wearing and reasonably priced. It is not chasing the lightest weight or the flashiest looks; it is chasing all-round dependability, and it largely succeeds.

The Michelin sole and cushioning

Babolat developed the Movea 2 outsole with Michelin, the tyre company, and the collaboration shows in the grip. The hybrid herringbone tread is designed for the sand-filled artificial turf padel is played on, and it bites in multiple directions so you can plant and change direction with confidence. It is one of the more reassuring soles at this price point.

Cushioning comes from the KPRS-X system in the heel, which absorbs the impact of landings and quick stops, backed by a COMF+ insole made largely from recycled foam. The overall feel is supportive and protective rather than soft and springy - the priority is looking after your joints over a long session.

Stability and support

The Movea 2's defining trait is how locked-in it feels. A STRAP-LOCK band wraps the midfoot and continues over the tongue, holding your foot in place so it does not shift when you push off laterally. That translates to confidence on quick changes of direction and less lateral ankle stress, which is exactly what you want from an all-court padel shoe. Reviewers consistently rate it among the more stable padel-specific shoes available.

Comfort, fit and weight

The upper uses a breathable mesh cooling system that keeps feet from overheating in long rallies, and the fit is true to size. The structured, supportive build does take a couple of sessions to break in - out of the box it feels firm - but once settled it is comfortable for hours. The trade-off for all that support and durability is weight: the Movea 2 is heavier and less explosive than a minimalist speed shoe such as Babolat's own Jet line. If you prize quickness over protection, that is worth weighing up.

Who should buy the Movea 2?

The Babolat Movea 2 is the shoe to buy if you play regular club padel and want a dependable all-rounder: stable, cushioned, durable and keenly priced. It is especially good value for players who found premium shoes hard to justify. If you specifically want the lightest, most explosive shoe you can get - or maximum grip for aggressive tournament play like the Bullpadel Hack Vibram 26V offers - look higher up the range. For most players, the Movea 2 hits the sweet spot.
